The Irmo Police Department is finishing its plans to host a National Night Out event this Tuesday, August 6 from 5:30 pm until 9 pm at the Irmo Community Park.
National Night Out is a nationwide community building campaign designed to bring law enforcement and their communities together for a positive reason.
“Our agency is excited to put on this event again this year. Irmo is a wonderful community and has always been supportive of its police department. This is a great event for us to show our community that we appreciate them as well.” said Captain Courtney Dennis. “National Night Out gives us an excellent opportunity to continue building on our great relationships between our neighbors and their police department.”
Irmo’s National Night Out event is free to the public and will have food, snow cones, and kids’ activities. There will be a DJ, rib eating contest, local band, and tons of first responders displaying their vehicles and equipment. Come and meet your local police officers and share in the fun at the event.
The Irmo Police Department’s Community Foundation has been gathering up donations of school supplies to give away during the event. Local businesses have made significant donations to make this event possible including food, drinks, and giveaways.
The Irmo Community Park is located at 7507 Eastview Drive, Irmo. For more information you can contact the Irmo Police Department at 781-8088.
