Saluda Shoals Park will host a free workshop September 10 by the South Carolina Department of Transportation Office of Public Transit for groups providing transportation to the disabled and senior citizens.

The workshop is one of four being held across the state for current sub-recipients, and agencies/entities seeking to become eligible sub-recipients. The workshop will address basic program requirements to include how to become a sub-recipient, review application process, eligible projects/expenses, invoices and procurement requirements for entities seeking FTA Section 5310 funding.

All potential eligible sub-recipients include nonprofit organizations, states or local government authorities, or operators of public transportation. Entities that have public transportation capital projects planned, designed, and/or carried out to meet the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities when public transportation is insufficient, unavailable, or inappropriate.

The Saluda Shoals workshop will be held in the River Center at the park, at 5605 Bush River Road, Columbia. It will begin at 10 am and end at 4 pm, and is at no cost to participants. However, registration is required for those wishing to attend. To register visit https://tinyurl.com/IrmoMobilty. If you have any issues registering contact: Curtis Sims, Jr. at [email protected]
