Dear IRMO Citizens:

The Coronavirus(COVID-19) is real. Your Town Council is taking precautions to keep you safe. The COVID-19 virus has disrupted most of the local municipalities’ operations. Governor McMaster has asked us to limit our person to person contact, close eat-in dining at restaurants and not to assemble more than 50 people at a time. The Town has canceled all Town events that will attract large crowds in our parks.  It’s hard for me not to interact with my friends and family, but I will have to adjust. A large majority of our citizens are over 60 and are especially vulnerable to this virus. With all this being said, It’s important that we share facts with our citizens. Check the website for factual information about the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Effective immediately Town Hall is open with a modified schedule. Call before you come to make an appointment if you want to conduct Town business.  All restaurants in the Town limits are operating as a take out or delivery only. All Town park children’s playgrounds will remain open for now, from 9 am-10 pm. The playground equipment will be sanitized on a regular schedule. All grocery stores will be open but on a modified schedule. The Town will share factually correct information on the Town Web Site (,  FB page and Email listserve.

Finally, we will survive this and we will get back to a normal lifestyle soon. Stay Strong IRMO and check on your neighbors.
