St. Paws Thrift Store opened a new location at 111 Ministry Drive in Irmo on January 14. The nonprofit gives its proceeds to save homeless and neglected animals in the Midlands. So far the store has donated more than $70,000 to 14 recognized animal rescue shelters and organizations.

“We’re looking for donations,” said Teresa Smith, owner of St. Paws Thrift Stores. “We’re thankful for all that our customers do to help these animals.”

St. Paws Thrift Store takes in donations of furniture, books, housewares, shoes, artwork, jewelry, clothing and pet supplies. The Irmo location is open on Tuesday, 12-8, Wednesday and Thursday 11-7, Friday 10-6, and Saturday 10-4. They can be contacted at 403-4419.
