Richland County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Frieda Wyatt and Sergeant Maria Yturria have been honored during the 2016 Palmetto Center for Women Honors luncheon February 23.
Wyatt and Yturria were presented with the Palmetto Center for Women award for being a powerful female figure through their outstanding achievements and leadership skills, as well as their positive influence in the community.
Palmetto Center for Women serves as an outreach branch to the YMCA of Columbia where they provide resources for women to achieve their desires at home, at work, and in their communities. PCW offers programs such as Women Linking Women, the Ready, Willing and Able, and others. The PCW Honors have honored over 700 women in the last 36 years.
Wyatt currently serves as the Lieutenant of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Fugitive Task Force and has been with the department for 16 years; Yturria currently serves as a Sergeant in the Victim’s Service Division and has been with the department for 12 years.
