Sesqui to hold Guided Camping Weekend

Sesquicentennial State Park is hosting its 9th Annual Palmetto Campout April 8 – 9. Application deadline is March 12.

Participants will camp overnight with park rangers and volunteers who will teach them basic camping skills including building a camp fire and camp cooking. Participants will also have the opportunity to go geocaching, paddling, fishing and more. Evening activities will include a camp fire and s’mores. This event is ideal for families who have never camped before and want to learn a new hobby.

Applications are available online,, or at the park office. Families will be selected on a first- come, first- serve basis and based on their level of camping experience.
