The Lake Murray Polar Plunge will be held February 13 at the Lake Murray Recreation Area on the Lexington side of the Lake Murray Dam.

Registration begins at 10 am, costume contest will be at 11 am and the plunge will take place at noon. Plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in donations which will include an event T-shirt and refreshments.

The entrance to the recreation area is located at the intersection of SC Highway 6 and Corley Mill Road.

The event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics South Carolina, and is sponsored by Special Olympics South Carolina and Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Special Olympics South Carolina offers year-round athletic training and competitions for more than 22,900 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
