Holiday Music — The Palmetto Health Cancer Center needs volunteers who play musical instruments to play their own selection of music in one to two-hour shifts, from 9 am – 5:30 pm, December 2-25. Reach Out and Read Book Donations and Contributions—Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital’s Reach Out and Read Program is an early literacy intervention impacting over 2,950 children between 0-5 years in the Children’s Hospital Outpatient Clinic during 5,900 well visits and providing nearly 6,000 books. Reach Out and Read provides age-appropriate books for children during all well-child visits, and gives parents anticipatory guidance around building their child’s language and literacy skills. The Giving Tree—Palmetto Health and the James R. Clark Memorial Sickle Cell Foundation are co-sponsoring “The Giving Tree” for sickle-cell patients and their siblings. You can help by bringing new, unwrapped toys for children ages birth through 16 to the James R. Clark Memorial Sickle Cell Foundation, 1420 Gregg St., from 9 am-4 pm Monday-Friday. Treat Bags for Patients—Volunteers are needed to prepare treat bags for those remaining in the hospital at Palmetto Health during the Christmas holidays. Volunteers will be distributing the treat bags to patients throughout December. Treat bags will be accepted through Wednesday, December 19.
