In a collaboration spanning 25 years, the Duo “2” (Peter H. Bloom, multiple flutes, and Mary Jane Rupert, piano and harp) have performed all over the world. The duo performs diverse repertoire, from masterworks of the literature to newly composed works. The duo can be heard on CDs from North Star, Ravello Records and Navona Records.
Peter H. Bloom, flute, plays in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand; appears on 40 recordings; and is a winner of the American Musicological Society’s Noah Greenberg Award. He has given lectures and master classes across the globe and has served as historical performance consultant to The American Museum in Britain, The New-York Historical Society, and Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, where he performs and lectures regularly.
Mary Jane Rupert, piano and harp, praised by the New York Times as exhibiting “indeed real sensitivity,” has performed throughout the world from Carnegie Recital Hall to the Beijing Concert Hall. She has appeared as concert pianist and harpist with chamber ensembles, choral groups and orchestras across the United States.
All Sunday at Lowman Concerts are held at 3 pm on Sunday afternoons in the New Life Chapel located in the Wellness Center on the Heritage at Lowman campus and will be followed by a reception in the adjacent Hoefler Gallery.
