Harbison Theatre at MTC is kicking off its National Theatre Live series this Tuesday, November 7 at 7 pm featuring a screening of No Man’s Land – starring Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart.

This motion picture is a birds-eye-view of the West End stage where the production was originally performed, and is a great opportunity for theatre aficionados and play enthusiasts to enjoy an award-winning performance on-screen.

No Man’s Land is known for its unique and mysterious story, which explores poignant themes of old age, memory, and companionship that will leave the audience in deep thought and conversation long afterwards.

The plot centers around a summer’s evening, when two aging writers, Hirst and Spooner, meet in a Hampstead pub and continue their drinking into the night at Hirst’s house nearby. As the pair become increasingly inebriated and their stories increasingly unbelievable, the lively conversation soon turns into a revealing power game, further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men.

“This play is one of those classics that theatre friends and aficionados will enjoy immensely,” says Kristin Cobb, Executive Director of [email protected] She adds, “The NTL series is such a wonderful concept; I am eager to enjoy the live screening as well. We look forward to meeting both Stewart and McKellen fans, and mingling with the theatre enthusiasts who are fond of Pinter’s work.”

National Theatre Live is a project launched in June 2009 that has broadcast more than 40 productions to more than 5.5 million people across the world. Each production is performed in front of a live audience in London, recorded with multiple cameras positioned throughout the auditorium, and then screened in theatres across the globe – giving viewers “the best seat in the house.”
