Since this is my last article of 2018, I thought I would reflect on the year.
First of all, I would like to thank all of the agents in my Irmo office on Woodrow Street for all the fun we have had and the support we have given each other. It is a great group of true professionals who go to great lengths to provide customer service. I have been blessed in my career.
Next, I would like to wish a Merry Christmas to all of my real estate colleagues I have had transactions with, worked on committees with and on projects we have completed. The Irmo-Columbia area is lucky to have such a great Realtor community to call on for help with real estate needs.
Realtors work in an exciting industry providing guidance on a product that shelters people, creates equity and defines and strengthens communities. Homeownership remains the American dream and Realtors help make it happen with their expertise.
Realtors are a giving group. We provided $1.5 million to the Realtors Relief Foundation this year to help with nine disasters. We helped with the flooding and landslides in Kauai, Hawaii, in April. We helped with the Houston flooding.
We helped with the wildfires in California. And at home, we helped with Hurricane Florence. Remember, when disasters hit, Realtors are affected also. They lose their homes, income and sources of business.
2018 was good for the housing market in our area. Predictions are it will continue in 2019.
So Irmo, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my house to yours. See you next year.
7464 Woodrow Street, Irmo.
