LUNCH ‘N LEARN: Dementia Speaks

Dementia Speaks is a 4-day education opportunity designed to inform specific communities about the effects of dementia. Dr. Macie Smith will provide dementia education with real world scenarios that will leave you empowered. Lunches provided by Hospice Care of SC, Right at Home: Home Health Care and Colonial Gardens Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit. RSVP preferred, but not necessary.

Ask the Expert Series: Financial Q&A’s

Financial Advisor Leslie Slaughter will lend her expertise through a “Financial Concerns for Caregivers” presentation. Individual assistance with financial concerns available per request and is free of charge.

SNACK ‘N LEARN: Heart-to-Heart

Let’s have a candid conversation about heart health. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women across the country. Chrissy Houseman from Brookdale Senior Living Solutions will teach the signs, symptoms and our risk of developing heart disease. Snacks provided by Brookdale Senior Living Solutions.

VOLUNTEERS: LCC Fundraiser Volunteer Meeting.

LCC is gearing up for its first fundraiser. The Leeza Gibbons Dare 2 Care Fair is coming up June 24 at the Columbia Convention Center, and they need volunteers to help put the FUN in thier first FUNdraiser. Anyone interested in helping is welcome to join over lunch to discuss all the ways to be a part of LCC history. Lunch provided by Colonial Gardens Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit.

Everything you always wanted to know about Home Health, Rehabilitation and Skilled Care, Hospice, and Behavioral Health. Join Leeza’s Care Connection in welcoming a Senior Advisory Panel with panelists: Wendy Weaver-Gentiva Home Health, Will McNamara-Pruitt Health, Daryl McNair-Hospice advocate, and Johnsie Douglas, M.Ed,LPC- Three Rivers Behavioral Health. Come prepared with questions, and they will answer as many questions and provide referrals and resources as well as handouts in their areas of expertise.
