Veronica Latrice Bailey has been arrested for a strong arm robbery at Kohls in the Town of Lexington September 23
A loss prevention associate for Kohls observed Bailey, age 32 of Winnsboro, select numerous items of children’s clothing and walk into a fitting room. The associate could hear Bailey removing tags from the clothing and when exiting the fitting room noticed that her purse was visibly larger than before. The associate was familiar with Bailey as she had been involved in numerous past shoplifting incidents at Kohls.
As Bailey was walking out of the store, the associate asked her to return the merchandise. Bailey turned around while standing in the parking lot and pepper sprayed the associate in her face. As the associate was attempting to get the license plate number of the vehicle that Bailey was getting into to leave, she turned around and pepper sprayed the associate again in the face.
“Detectives of the Lexington Police Department have been working on locating Bailey since this incident occurred and we greatly appreciate the hard work of the Fairfield County Probation, Pardon & Parole, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department and the Columbia Police Department in assisting with this arrest,” said Chief Terrence Green.
