The Sewing for Kids Camp was held recently at the Ballentine Community Center.
Campers learned the fundamentals of sewing by hand. Instructor, Beth Allen, kept the campers fully engaged by giving them new and challenging project to complete each day.
Students learned how thread a needle, cut fabric, straight and zigzag stitch, sew on buttons and snaps, make pockets to hold little trinkets, gather material to make a fabric flower and many other fun techniques. At the end of the camp, each camper took home a tote bag accessorized by the brightly colored projects they completed during the week.
A Christmas Vacation Sewing Camp may also be offered.
