Irmo police apprehended a suspect in a possible shots fired and stolen vehicle incident that began on Broad River Road at Friarsgate Plaza and ended at the Friarsgate Supermarket/Shell Station on North Royal Tower Road around 1pm January 10.

Irmo Police Captain Courtney Dennis said a witness heard shots fired and called police. From information obtained from witness accounts, Irmo PD located one of the vehicles involved in the incident at the Shell station and apprehended the driver who denied doing anything wrong. He claimed he was a victim and had been shot at. An apparent bullet hole was found on the vehicle he was driving. As it turned out, the vehicle was reported stolen from Calhoun County. Police are searching for a black Impala driven by a white individual which was identified as the second vehicle.

No one was hurt and the incident is still under investigation.
