Irmo Little League announced last week that it will soon resume the spring season, with practice sessions starting June 1, games kicking-off on June 8, and the season running through July.
Also, the League has opened registration for its senior division, and that will continue until May 31. Senior division teams will be in addition to teams already formed in the other divisions of the Irmo Little League (ILL), and they will also begin play June 8.
The ILL said it is working to update the game schedules and will post that to its Facebook page as soon as possible.
To accomplish a safe resumption of the spring season, ILL has published new procedures to be followed during practice, games and at all times at the ball fields. Entitled “Irmo Little League COVID 19 Guidelines,” the document is quite extensive and detailed, and the League states, in part, that it “cannot stress enough how vital it is that all Irmo participants not only adhere to these guidelines, but also step in and help out.”
Irmo Little League, like all Little League organizations around the nation, and the world, is an all volunteer organization and it depends heavily on the participation of volunteers at every level to successfully run its programs.
The Irmo Little League’s COVID 19 guidelines can be found at irmolittleleague.org.
ILL baseball and softball teams practice and play their home games at Richland County’s Friarsgate Park nestled on almost 20 acres within the Friarsgate residential neighborhood.
