HarborChase of Columbia, a local assisted living and memory care community, announces that Rob Hernandez, the community’s executive director, is the recipient of the Outstanding Servant Leader of the Year award from Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA). In addition, HarborChase of Columbia received the Most Improved award from HRA. The awards were announced at a gala dinner in Orlando June 8. HarborChase of Columbia is managed by HRA, a regional senior living development and management company based in Vero Beach, Florida.

The Outstanding Servant Leader award recognizes leaders who have done the most outstanding job of working with the talents he or she has at their disposal. Other factors considered for the award include devotion to developing and training associates, commitment to best in industry workforce, motivating associates, fostering teamwork, measuring results and maintaining a low turnover rate.

Prior to his current role as Executive Director at HarborChase of Columbia, Hernandez spent five years at HarborChase of Gainesville in a variety of roles.  His past experiences include Director of Social Services, Director of Hospitality Regional Trainer and Director of Life Enrichment. His professional emphasis is not only guest-oriented, but also focused on support staff and partnering business. The last three years, he has been extensively involved in the HRA Mentor Program, winning several HRA Core Value Awards as well as Customer Experience Award from Pinnacle Quality Insight in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He’s married with three young boys and enjoys sharing his talents with community outreach organizations.
