Message from the President School is back in session, morning commutes are busier, and fall is on its way! Even though September doesn’t necessarily signal cooler weather in the Midlands of South Carolina, it does mean several exciting events are on the way to our area.

This will be the 45th year for the Irmo Okra Strut, happening September 28th and 29th and as always, the event is free to the public!

Please plan to join us for our monthly Chamber Luncheon on September 12th. This month, we will welcome Bryan Stirling, Director of the SC Department of Corrections. This edition of our luncheon is generously being sponsored by  Columbia Metropolitan Airport and catered by Carrabba’s Columbiana.

The Chamber and the community would like to extend a special thank you to Kassy Alia, CEO and Founder of Serve and Connect who made last month’s Chamber Luncheon an inspirational event for all in attendance.

Grab a teammate and work on your bag toss! September 13th brings about the 2nd annual Irmo Chamber Cornhole Tournament. Registration is $50 per team and it includes two t-shirts, the chance at bragging rights and a tacky trophy! If cornhole isn’t your game, consider signing up to be a vendor for the event, reach out to the Chamber offices for more information. If you decide to
participate or just want to watch, join us at Catfish Johnny’s for what will surely be a #FunChamber event.

Do you want to get more involved in your community? We encourage you to give us a call or come by our office to meet us. We’d love to meet you and tell you more about The Chamber and how we can help better connect your  business in Irmo.

We hope to see you at a Greater Irmo Chamber event soon!

Thank you,
Kerry Powers, President and CEO
