Why did Governor Henry McMaster not rescind his restrictions 24 hours earlier on indoor dining and give a huge boost to restaurants by allowing them to serve inside on Mothers Day?
The biggest dining out day of the year and our Governor wants to wait an extra day before letting people eat indoors. His AccelerateSC task force is giving him bad advice and even the head of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, who is on that board, got it wrong by waiting until May 11. If restaurants can only allow 50 percent capacity wouldn’t it have been great to give them that opportunity last Sunday?
Restaurants have taken a huge hit amid this crisis and for the Governor not to see the significance by missing this restaurant holiday is inexcusable.
He either needs better advisors or needs to listen more closely to the hundreds of restaurant owners throughout our great state.
