Lexington County Farm Bureau and local Farm Bureau Insurance agents in the Irmo and Lexington offices are bringing a little more joy to this holiday season to two families facing financial hardship.
A $500 check was presented to a woman who is suffering from advanced renal disease. She struggles to afford help around her home and transportation to her dialysis appointments. A second $500 check was presented to a couple with three young children. The mother underwent brain surgery recently and has been unable to work.
The donations are part of a company sponsored holiday community outreach program called Farm Bureau Cares. Through Farm Bureau Cares, county Farm Bureau offices across South Carolina provide a monetary donation during December to help a family or charity of their choice. Each local donation made by the County Farm Bureau and local agents is matched by Farm Bureau Insurance. Lexington County Farm Bureau and local agents were aware of the recipients’ situations and selected the families to receive the local Farm Bureau Cares donation.
Statewide, more than $38,000 was donated through Farm Bureau Cares to assist charities and countless individuals this holiday season.
