Lexington-Richland School District Five is recognizing dozens of students for achieving high scores on the PSAT and SAT examinations. The highest score possible on the test is a 1600.

For recognition purposes the district uses the PSAT scores for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. The test was administered in October 2019. These scores are the total of both Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math sections.

The following students earned the top total scores for their school: Paige Maylath (Chapin High), Cindy Ju (Chapin High), Cody Dedmond (Chapin High), Jessie Zhao (Dutch Fork High), Benjamin Yang (Dutch Fork High), Carolyn Chen (Dutch Fork High), Seungwook Won (Dutch Fork High), Eric Mitchell (Dutch Fork High), Harrison Pham (Irmo High), Paul Matheny (Irmo High), Alaura Cakley (Irmo High), Sasha Bacot (Spring Hill High), Peter von Ahn (Spring Hill High), Zaire Prime (Spring Hill High).

The district also recognizes any student for achieving a perfect score on either of the two sections of the PSAT test. Those sections are Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. The following students scored a perfect score on the Math portion: Paige Maylath (Chapin High), Allison Fletcher (Chapin High), Jessie Zhao (Dutch Fork High), Lawrence Miao (Dutch Fork High), and Peter von Ahn (Spring Hill High).

The following students scored a perfect score on the Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing portion of the PSAT test: Benjamin Yang (Dutch Fork High School), Seungwook Won (Dutch Fork High), and Sasha Bacot (Spring Hill High).

These scores are the total of both Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math sections from their Freshman year through December 31st of their Senior year.  Jacqueline Walker (Chapin High), Anna Hurley (Chapin High) Sean Cannon (Chapin High), Cameron Duncan (Chapin High), Caitlin Kunchur (Dutch Fork High), Arjun Verma (Dutch Fork High), Janette Park (Dutch Fork High), Emerald Harris (Dutch Fork High), Sean Ellsworth (Irmo High), Tanvi Singh (Irmo High), Mark Sheldon (Irmo High), Kennedy Stodden (Spring Hill High), Reid Taylor (Spring Hill High), David Ziehl (Spring Hill High), Abby Trayers (Spring Hill High), and Luke Naylor (Spring Hill High).

The district also recognizes any student for achieving a perfect score on either of the two sections of the SAT test. Those sections are Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing, and Math. The following students scored a perfect score on the Math portion: Caitlin Kunchur (Dutch Fork High), Arjun Verma (Dutch Fork High), Janette Park (Dutch Fork High), Lauren Chen (Dutch Fork High), Ana Boccanfuso (Dutch Fork High), Jenna Hofseth (Dutch Fork High), and Adam Steger (Dutch Fork High).

“We have remarkable students in School District Five and this recognition highlights the outstanding academic achievements of students from each of our high schools,” said Chief Instructional Officer Michael Guliano. “I am proud of each of their accomplishments and look forward to reading about their future successes.”
