Six varsity football players from Lexington-Richland School District Five have been selected for all-star teams. Chapin High, Dutch Fork High and Irmo High will have a representative in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas game and Touchstone Energy North-South game.

Hank Manos (Chapin), Bryce Thompson (Dutch Fork) and Trajan Jeffcoat (Irmo) will compete in the 81st annual Shrine Bowl. The game features standout athletes from North and South Carolina and will take place at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. on December 16.

Xsavion Gordon (Chapin), Alex Smith (Dutch Fork) and Dalyon Guess (Irmo) were selected for the North-South game that will take place in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on December 9.

Manos is ranked as one of the top offensive linemen in the state. Gordon leads Chapin in receiving with 50 catches for 606 yards.

“Extremely excited for Hank and Xsavion to be selected for all-star games,” Chapin head coach Justin Gentry said. “Both are incredible young men and do a tremendous job for our football team, on and off the field.”

Thompson has over 1,000 all-purpose yards and has scored 20 touchdowns in his previous five games. Smith is a key leader on the Silver Foxes defense with six sacks and 16 tackles for loss.

“It is always neat to see some of our kids be regarded as some of the best athletes in the state,” Dutch Fork head coach Tom Knotts said. “We are very proud of Bryce and Alex, and know they will represent Dutch Fork well in Spartanburg and Myrtle Beach.”

Jeffcoat and Guess have been dominant forces for the Yellow Jackets on defense this season. Jeffcoat leads the state in sacks, while Guess has 59 tackles this season.

“Trajan and Dalyon have been a big key to our success this season,” Irmo head coach Reggie Kennedy said. “We are very happy for these two and expect big things from them at the Shrine Bowl and North-South game.”
