Lexington-Richland School District Five has announced plans to make up a school day lost due to inclement weather. Students in District Five will now attend school on February 19, which was previously scheduled as a teacher workday.

The district missed a day January 17 as a winter storm brought snow, ice and cold weather through parts of South Carolina. The two remaining potential make-up days for District Five are March 30 and April 6.

“We consulted with our principals, staff and district leaders to ensure our decision would provide the best possible way to make up lost instructional time with the least negative impact on our families,” said School District Five Superintendent-elect Dr. Christina Melton.
