Carolina Business Equipment (CBE), a Columbia-based IT and print solutions company, continues to develop its presence in the southeast with its acquisition of a Piedmont-area copier and printer service base from S&B Office Supplies and Furnishings.
“I am pleased that we were able to come to terms on the acquisition between CBE and S&B Office Supplies and Furnishings,” said John Eckstrom, president of CBE.
S&B originally took over management of the base from Blake and Ford, a local dealer, but quickly realized that an established organization with proven experience was needed to serve those clients.
“We have been aware of CBE and what they bring to market. They have demonstrated a real commitment to the office technology space,” said Stacy Brevard Mays of S&B. “We had hoped to be able to provide the full array of business solutions to our new clients, but considering the complexity of this type of service and the need for continuing training, etc., the offer that John made was the key factor for us moving forward with this venture.”
For nearly 45 years, CBE has provided copier and print solutions to organizations across South Carolina. It carries a full line of gear for Sharp, Toshiba, and Oki Data printers and copiers. CBE also serves as a factory service training facility, offering fellow dealerships an opportunity to receive factory certified training at its corporate headquarters in Columbia.
Over the past 10 years, CBE has also increased its focus on networking and computer support solutions as well. From an IT perspective, CBE is a full-on infrastructure company, offering an extensive menu of services relating to network support. The IT division’s team of 10 serves high-profile clients around South Carolina and the US, including other copier companies.
