Lake Murray was the site of the Juniors Bass Championship hosted by The Bass Federation (TBF) of South Carolina May 14.
The tournament was open to TBF youth club members ages 11 to 15. Clubs send teams of up to 6 young anglers to compete.
The combined weight of all team members decide the winning team, but individual weights are also kept separate. The one angler with the heaviest 5 bass limit is crowned as TBF of SC State Champion and will advance to the Juniors World Championship at Lake Guntersville, AL later this year.
For the second year in a row, the North Augusta Fishing Team came out on top. They had a winning weight of 37.79 lbs. Anchoring the teams weight was Kyler Mckie with his 5 bass limit of 12.23 lbs. His biggest bass weighed 5.03. That was good enough to put him in the lead and become this year’s TBF of SC Juniors Champion. Mckie will advance to the Juniors World Championship.
TBF would like to thank the Palmetto State Armory Fishing Outlet for their support of the event. For information about staring a club or joining TBF visit www.tbfofsc.com.
